1911 T208 Cullivan's Fireside Harry Davis

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $4,700

Graded GOOD 30 by SGC. T208 Cullivan's Fireside tobacco card of first baseman Harry Davis of the Philadelphia Athletics. Bright and crisp, with a flawless image, and technically centered 75/25 top to bottom (although really it is just the case that the card has a very large top border; it is clear from studying T208s that quality control with reference to cutting was not great, resulting in many cards having diamond cuts and sometimes with one extra large border at the top or bottom). The reverse is relatively clean, with boldly printed advertising for Cullivan's Fireside tobacco. Extremely attractive example of a star player from this legendary rare tobacco-card set. Reserve $1,000. Estimate (open).
