1930-1958 Baseball Scorecard Collection (40)

Offered here is a large collection of forty regular-season Major League scorecards/programs, issued by four different clubs: New York Yankees, Chicago White Sox, Boston Red Sox, and Boston Braves. A large number of Hall of Famers are represented in the preprinted lineups, many more than once, including Mantle, Gehrig, DiMaggio, Berra, Gordon, P. Waner, Durocher, Mize, Vaughan, Lopez, Feller, Ferrell, Rizzuto, Reese, Medwick, Greenberg, Gehringer, Cochrane, Grove, Goslin, Lazzeri, Coombs, Dickey, Gomez, Ruffing, Appling, Cronin, Doerr, Terry, Lindstrom, Hubbell, Maranville, Sisler, Herman, Haines, Dean, and Hartnett. Approximately sixty percent of the programs have been neatly scored in pencil. All display light, moderate wear, including some with vertical folds and/or stray pencil or ink notations, but the vast majority remain in Very Good to Excellent condition overall. 1) New York Yankees. Seven scorecards spanning the years 1944 through 1958: 1944 (vs. St. Louis), 1946 (vs. Cleveland), 1949 (vs. A's, Connie Mack Day, August 21st), 1950 (vs. Washington), 1952 (vs. Boston), 1952 (vs. Cleveland), and 1958 (vs. Baltimore). 2) Chicago White Sox. Sixteen scorecards spanning the years 1931 through 1950: 1931 (vs. A's, Comiskey portrait on cover), 1932 (vs. St. Louis, opening day), 1933 (vs. Detroit), 1936 (vs. Boston), 1937 (vs. A's), 1939 (vs. Detroit), 1942 (vs. A's), 1943 (vs. A's), 1945 (vs. St. Louis), 1946 (vs. Cleveland), 1947 (vs. Cleveland), 1947 (the two interior score pages have been removed), 1948 (vs. St. Louis), 1948 (vs. New York), 1949 (vs. Detroit), and 1950 (vs. Cleveland). 3) Boston Red Sox. Eight scorecards spanning the years 1930 through 1938: 1930 (vs. Detroit), 1931 (vs. A's, back cover detached), 1933 (vs. A's), 1934 (vs. Detroit), 1935 (vs. Yankees, Gehrig batting fourth), 1936 (vs. Yankees, Gehrig batting fourth), 1937 (vs. Chicago), and 1938 (vs. Detroit). 4) Boston Braves. Nine scorecards spanning the years 1930 through 1940: 1930 (vs. Giants), 1931 (vs. Red Sox, exhibition game), 1933 (vs. Cubs), 1935 (vs. Cardinals), 1936 (vs. Cubs), 1937 (vs. Cardinals), 1938 (vs. Reds), 1939 (vs. Pirates), and 1940 (vs. Dodgers).
