1912 T207 Complete Hall of Famer Collection - All SGC-Graded (13)

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $2,938

Complete set of all thirteen Hall of Famers in the T207 brown background set. The T207 set includes many obscure players, and that is part of its great appeal to collectors. While the T207 set has far fewer Hall of Famers than T205 and T206, both in terms of numbers and in terms of percentage, the set does include thirteen HOFers. Presented is a complete collection of all thirteen T207 Hall of Famers in the T207 set, highlighted by Walter Johnson and Tris Speaker. All thirteen cards have been graded and encapsulated by SGC (submitted by REA): Bender (FAIR 20, Vg appearance from the front downgraded due to a piece of clear tape on the back), Bresnahan (VG/EX 50, Napoleon Little Cigars back), Carey (encapsulated as Authentic due to a very slight trim, Vg-Ex appearance from the front, surface abrasions on the back), Chance (EX+ 70), Hooper (VG/EX 50), Johnson (VG 40), Marquard (EX 60), McGraw (VG/EX 50), McKechnie (GOOD 30), Speaker (VG 40), Tinker (GOOD 30), Wallace (GOOD 30), and Wheat (FAIR 20). This is a very impressive-looking T207 group, comprised exclusively of Hall of Famers, a few of which are very important cards in the set (McKechnie and Speaker, in particular, are very scarce), and with most cards having an appearance superior to their technically accurate assigned grades. This is a very interesting and unusual "subset" to the T207 set that we have never before seen offered as a unit. The equivalent SMR value for the assigned grades (not including the Authentic Carey) is $3,325. Total 13 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$3,000. SOLD FOR $2,938
