1911 T5 Pinkerton Cabinet Eddie Collins

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,528

Tremendous example of Hall of Famer Eddie Collins in a batting pose from the T5 Pinkerton cabinet-card set. Two poses of Collins were issued in T5 series: batting and fielding. T5s are one of the rarest sets from the 1910-era, and have always been highly prized by serious collectors. This is one of the most striking and impressive of all Eddie Collins cards. Bright, fresh, and impeccably clean, with only a couple very light stains on the bottom border, and a tiny spot of surface wear on the left border. PSA apparently does not put numerical grades on T5 Pinkerton cabinets (they have encapsulated thirty-two examples to date, all as "Authentic"); we have not examined this card outside of its holder but it appears to us to be in strong Excellent condition. A significant addition to any serious Hall of Fame or prewar-card collection. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $1,528
