1909-1911 T206 Ty Cobb Green Background

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $2,350

Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. Crisp, clean, very striking example of this classic tobacco card of Hall of Famer Ty Cobb. The Green Background portrait pose has long been considered the rarest of the four poses of Cobb in the T206 set. Cobb's portrait contrasts sharply against the deep green background. Flawless registration, a crisp and clean surface, centered a little towards the top left, with even corner wear and an extremely tiny light crease on the left border. Piedmont reverse. This is a very attractive Vg-Ex example of one of the key cards from the premier tobacco issue of the 1910 era. The SMR value is $2,300. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $2,350
