1909-1911 T206 White Border PSA NM 7 Collection (50)

Starting Bid - $5,000, Sold For - $26,438

Incredible collection of fifty different extremely high grade T206 White Border tobacco cards, each graded NM 7 by PSA (except two SGC NM 84). Card for card, in terms of a combination of condition and quantity, this lot is the most amazing high-grade T206 collection we have ever offered. It is remarkable that the number of cards in this collection in this high grade is fifty, representing 9.5% of the T206 set. These cards are part of a very large collection of classic T206 cards, assembled one card at a time over a period of twenty years, that we have organized by condition. This collection represents all of the PSA NM 7 T206s in the collection (with the exception of Hall of Famers which are offered separately). This is an extraordinary T206 collecting opportunity.

All are different and all have Piedmont or Sweet Caporal advertisements on back unless otherwise noted: Abstein, Barry - Phil., Beaumont, Bradley - port., Bradley - bat, Bridwell - no cap (Old Mill), Chappelle, Chase - dark cap (SGC NM 84), Congalton, Criger (Sovereign), Doolan - fielding, Geyer, Gilbert, Howell - hand at waist, Knabe, Krause - port., Maloney, Mattern, McIntyre - Bklyn, McIntyre - Bklyn & Chi., McQuillan - ball in hand (Sovereign), Moeller, Oberlin, Oldring - batting (Polar Bear), Moran - Chi., Mowrey, Murphy - throwing, Phillippe, Poland, Powell, Purtell (SGC NM 84), Quinn, Rucker - throwing, Schaefer - Wash., Schreck, Shannon, Smith - F. Smith on front, Starr, Steinfeldt - bat, Stone (Sovereign), Stovall - batting, Stovall - port. (Sovereign), Street - port., Sullivan, Tannehill - Wash., Tannehill - Tannehill on front, Taylor (Old Mill), Unglaub, White - pitching, and Young - Minn. This is a stunning group of high-grade cards from the most popular tobacco-card issue of the 1910 era. These fifty examples each display four sharp corners, flawless registration, and extremely strong colors. Each of these cards displays as a crisp, fresh gem, worthy of inclusion in any ultra high-grade T206 collection or set. The SMR value for T206s graded NM 7 by PSA is $375 each. We have found that at auction cards from extremely popular sets with very low populations in the highest grades often sell for more than SMR, and this is especially the case with classic vintage sets such as the T206 White Borders. The total SMR value for the assigned grades is $18,750. Total 50 cards. Reserve $5,000. Estimate $10,000/$15,000+. SOLD FOR $26,438
