1909-1911 T206 White Border PSA-Graded Collection (4)

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $2,938

Four gorgeous T206 White Border cards, each a classic card in the set, including two Hall of Famers, a rare team variation, and a common player in particularly high grade. All four have been graded and encapsulated by PSA: George Brown/Washington (Sovereign back) EX 5; Nap Lajoie/port. (HOF, Sweet Caporal back) NM-MT 8 (OC) (centered 80/20 L/R, otherwise in virtually flawless, crisp Nr/Mt-Mt condition) ; Christy Mathewson/port. (HOF, Piedmont) GOOD 2 (this is a stunning card, very harshly downgraded due to one extremely tiny surface crease in the border just above Matty's right shoulder and a few tiny areas of virtually undetectable surface abrasion on reverse that are truly of no consequence; this card has a very strong Excellent or better appearance with perfect centering; we grade this card Vg-Ex/Ex); and Larry McLean (Sweet Caporal back) NM 7. This is a very sharp-looking group of high-quality tobacco cards, each with bright colors, and each perfectly clean, both front and back. Highlighted by a particularly attractive Christy Mathewson portrait, one of his most popular cards. Total 4 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $2,938
