1902-1911 W600 Sporting Life Cabinet Card Collection (6)

Starting Bid - $2,500, Sold For - $5,875

Collection of six stunning high-grade W600 Sporting Life cabinets, each graded and encapsulated by SGC: Ritchey (EX/NM 80), Dougherty (EX 60), Freeman (EX 60), Hartzell (EX 60), Parent (EX 60), and Dahlen (VG 40). All six of these cards are gems, as nice as one could ever hope to find, crisp and clean, and with flawless surfaces. These were all obviously put away at the time of issue and never touched. SGC is naturally hard on these cards. All have a strong Ex-Mt or better appearance. While all six have a stronger appearance than suggested by their SGC-assigned grades, this is especially so with the card of Bill Dahlen. Dalhen has been downgraded to VG due to two very tiny surface paper chips on the blank reverse. It would otherwise have been graded Ex or Ex-Mt by SGC. W600s are one of the rarest sets from the early part of the century, and one of the most substantial and well-made card sets ever produced. This is a magnificent collection of six exceptional examples from this extraordinary issue. Total 6 cards. Reserve $2,500. Estimate $5,000+. SOLD FOR $5,875
