1915 E145 Cracker Jack #103 Joe Jackson PSA EX-MT 6

Starting Bid - $2,500.00 , Sold For - $26,437.50

Graded EX 6 by PSA. Stunning and fresh high-grade example of the 1915 Cracker Jack #103 Joe Jackson, one of the most sought-after of all Joe Jackson cards. This is an exceptionally strong and attractive Ex-Mt example. It has all the qualities of a Near Mint (or possibly even Nr/Mt-Mt) example but has been downgraded due to the approximately 30/70 L/R centering. The card is absolutely pristine, crisp, and perfectly fresh, both front and back. The red color of the background is particularly deep and bold. This card is obviously from a factory set obtained directly from the company by mail, and was never packaged in a box of Cracker Jacks. Aside from the centering, it is an ideal example. The card is bright and crisp, both front and back, with deep, bright colors, and perfect registration. Close examination reveals an ever-so-slight picture tilt that is characteristic of the card. The borders are bright and clean, as is the entire front and reverse. All four corners are strong and square, with only the slightest hint of wear on the tips visible under magnification. The card is in solid Excellent to Mint condition, and certainly presents as being in an even higher grade. A review of extraoridnary high prices realized at past auctions for PSA NM 7 and PSA NM-MT 8 examples of this card, combined with the fact that the PSA Population Report shows that there are actually fewer 1915 E145 Jacksons that have been graded PSA 6 than have been graded PSA 7 or PSA 8, suggests that this card may represent an exceptional value and offer a particularly rare opportunity. This is an extraordinary example of one of card collecting's most classic and popular cards in an extremely desirable grade. We think this card is worth more than the SMR value of $9,500. Reserve $2,500. Estimate $5,000/$10,000+. SOLD FOR $26,437.50
