Circa 1910 T202, T206 Baseball Tobacco and E79 Boxing Caramel Card Collection (83)

Outstanding original-owner collection of sixty-eight 1910-era baseball tobacco cards consists of thirty-seven T206 "White Borders" and thirty-one T202 "Triple Folders," plus fifteen E79 Philadelphia Caramel boxing cards. Included are twenty-one Hall of Famers (among them three Christy Mathewsons, Walter Johnson, and Cy Young). We have submitted nine cards to be graded by PSA. 1) T202 Hassan Triple Folders (31 cards): Three cards are Ex (#53, 79 Bresnahan/McGraw, and 89); eight cards are Vg-Ex (#1 Wallace/LaPorte, 66, 73, 80, 97, 109, 122, and 132 Wheat/Dahlen); eight cards are Vg (#20 Chance/Shean, 35, 41, two 47 Mathewson/Meyers, 54, 72 Lennox/Tinker, and 73); six cards range from Gd to Gd-Vg (#24, 25 Chase/Wolter, 27 Gibson/Clarke, 58, 64 Tinker/Chance, and 103); five cards range from Pr to Fr (#50, 51, 56, 61 Evers/Chance, and 70); one card is trimmed (#64 Tinker/Chance). Numbers reference Standard Catalog checklist. 2) T206 White Borders (37 cards): Twenty-one cards range from Ex to Ex-Mt including Brown/Chi. (PSA EX-MT 6), Crawford/bat (PSA EX 5), Jennings/both hands (PSA EX 5), Johnson/hands at chest (PSA EX 5), Mathewson/dark cap (PSA EX-MT 6), Wheat (PSA EX 5), Young/glove shows (PSA EX 5); three cards are Vg-Ex including McGraw/glove (PSA VG-EX 4); eight cards are Vg including Gandil (Black Sox) and Tinker/bat on; one is Gd; four are Pr-Fr including Lajoie/bat. 3) Also includes fifteen E79 Philadelphia Caramel Boxing cards highlighted by Jack Johnson (PSA EX 5), Abe Attell (Vg-Ex), James Jefferies (Vg), Sam Langford (Gd-Vg), Stanley Ketchell (Vg-Ex), and Gans/Nelson (Gd). This is a very substantial collection of tobacco cards from two of the era's most popular and classic sets, with many highlights and with an extraordinarily high concentration of Hall of Famers, plus a very clean collection of scarce E79 boxing cards including the key cards from the set. The SMR value for just the nine PSA-graded cards (not including the 74 raw cards) is $5,720. Total 83 cards (68 baseball tobacco cards and 15 boxing candy cards). Reserve $1,500.
