1910 E98 Anonymous "Set of 30" Roger Bresnahan PSA EX-MT 6

Starting Bid - $500.00 , Sold For - $7,050.00

Graded EX-MT 6 by PSA. Only one graded at this level with just one example graded higher. This extremely rare E98 "Set of 30" candy card features Hall of Famer Roger Bresnahan in exceptionally high grade. The manufacturer of E98 is unknown. This rare caramel issue from 1910 may be easily confused with other caramel card sets of the era (E93 and E94 specifically); they are an entirely different set even though they use many of the same subjects and poses. This is a very strong card, perfectly clean front and back, with four square corners, and a brilliant image set against a bright green background. The back features the checklist for the set in crisp, bold brown print. Caramel cards in general are much rarer than tobacco cards of the era. Because they were issued with caramels one card per package and sold to children (as opposed to being sold to adults with tobacco), they also tend to survive in a much lower grade. This is an exceptionally strong Ex-Mt example of the legendary Roger Bresnahan from this rare, early twentieth-century candy issue. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $7,050.00
