1909 T204 Ramly Tobacco Collection (38)

Starting Bid - $1,000.00 , Sold For - $9,400.00

Collection of thirty-eight different T204 Ramlys highlighted by Hall of Famers Jimmy Collins, Wee Willie Keeler, and Eddie Plank. One of the most elegantly designed card issues ever produced, T204 Ramlys are noted for the distinctive fancy gold-embossed borders that surround the oval photographic portraits. They are much rarer than most other tobacco card issues from the 1910 era. We have selected three cards to be graded by SGC. The collection is comprised of the following: Four Ex: Donovan, Kahoe, Murphy, and Spencer. Six Vg-Ex: Hartzell, Lindaman, McConnell, Stephens, and Wagner. Four Vg: Donahue, Ganley, Milan, and Morgan. Six Good: Blair, Burchell, Carrigan, Gessler, Lord, and Plank (SGC GOOD 30). Seven Fair: Elberfield (Elberfeld), Howell, Keeler (SGC FAIR 20), Kleinon (Kleinow), Pelty, Schaefer, and Street. Twelve Poor: Anderson, Ball, J. Collins (SGC POOR 10), Clymer, Conroy, Davis, Dineen (Dinneen), Jones, Newton, Niles, O’Leary, and Shipke. These cards are part of an original-owner collection of forty-five Ramlys that have never before been seen in the organized collecting world. (The seven cards from the collection not included in this lot are offered separately). This is a very substantial collection of one of card collecting's most classic issues. This collection represents a full 32% of the entire set, and is an ideal foundation for the building of a T204 set. This is a very attractive group of these extremely rare and desirable tobacco cards, spanning many grades, and including Hall of Famers Jimmy Collins, Wee Willie Keeler, and Eddie Plank. Total 38 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000++. SOLD FOR $9,400.00
