1909-1911 T206 White Border SGC EX+ 70 Collection (21)

Starting Bid - $500.00 , Sold For - $3,525.00

Collection of twenty-one T206 White Border tobacco cards, each encapsulated and graded EX+ 70 by SGC. The collection is highlighted by the "Joe Doyle, N.Y." hands above head pose. Though this is not the exceedingly rare "Doyle, NY Nat'l" variation, of which only a few are known, in recent times the Doyle hands above head pose has clearly been selling for a very substantial premium. All have Piedmont or Sweet Caporal advertisements on back unless otherwise noted: Abbott, Barbeau, Bates, Bush, Doolin (Doolan), Dougherty - arms in air, Doyle - NY, hands above head (Sovereign back), Easterly, Elberfeld - fielding, Hall (Sovereign back), Hartsel, Howell - hands at waist, Howell - port., McBride, Meyers, Murray - batting, Nicholls - hands on knees (Old Mill back), Oakes, Pfeister - throwing, Phelps, and Rhoades - hands at chest. This is an exceptionally strong group that could serve as a foundation for a high-quality T206 collection, or make a significant addition to the building of an extremely high-quality set. Total 21 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $3,525.00
