1895 N300 Mayo's Cut Plug Herman Long

Starting Bid - $300.00 , Sold For - $1,527.50

Graded EX/NM 80 by SGC. Highest-graded example! Outstanding high-grade Mayo of Herman Long, short stop, Boston Nationals. Long was one of three Boston Beaneaters to play on five National League pennant winners in the 1890s. He was a strong run producer, with 100 RBIs twice and scoring over 100 seven times. His 149 runs scored led the National League in 1893 and his twelve home runs led the league in 1900. This is a very strong high-grade card. Perfectly clean, with a bold portrait, centered slightly to the right, with just the lightest wear on the corners and edges, and a virtually perfect reverse. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $1,527.50
