1888 N162 Goodwin Champions Collection SGC Graded (4 cards)

Starting Bid - $400.00, Sold For - $4,700.00

Offered are four baseball players (out of eight ballplayers in the set) from the 1888 N162 Goodwin Champions set, all graded and encapsulated by SGC: Andrews (FAIR 20, downgraded due to small blue background ink bleed in the upper right and a few very light, neat pencil notations on reverse, otherwise Vg), Caruthers (FAIR 20, harshly downgraded due to a couple pinpoint surface flakes, which are not uncommon with N162s, otherwise Vg), Dunlap (FAIR 20, harshly downgraded due to checklist being neatly marked in pencil on reverse, otherwise Vg), and Glasscock (GOOD 30, we grade this card Vg). All four cards, as noted, have eye-appeal far superior to that suggested by their technically accurate SGC grades. This is a very attractive collection of mid-grade cards from this highly prized set, which is considered by many to be the single most beautiful of all the nineteenth-century tobacco issues. Total 4 cards. Reserve $400 Estimate $800/$1,200. SOLD FOR $4,700.00
