1994 SP #15 Alex Rodriguez Rookie

Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $3,231.25

Graded Gem Mint 9.5 by Beckett. Tomorrow's high-grade important classics are not always so easy to identify today, but this card may qualify. It is certainly worthy of consideration as a card that will stand out as among the most valuable and sought-after of its era. This is a spectacular ultra high-grade rookie card of Alex Rodriguez, who, in the eyes of many fans, is arguably the best player to ever step on the diamond. Even in today’s era of inflated statistics in baseball, A-Rod’s accomplishments are truly remarkable. Going into the 2007 season, he seems to have a virtual lock on 500 home runs and 600 and 700 seem to be just around the corner. His final total may ultimately be a function of how long he wants to play. Remember, he is only thirty-one years old and could play another ten years. As one would expect, this card, is a perfect gem and looks as though it was just pulled from a pack. Out of 9,049 graded by Beckett, 61 have been graded 9.5, which is the equivilent of a PSA 10 (Gem Mint). None have graded a Beckett Pristine 10 yet. The card has unusually high sub-grades; we know of only one higher. Gem Mint condition. Reserve $300. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $3,231.25
