1914 E145 Cracker Jack SGC-Graded Collection (11)

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $2,115.00

Collection of eleven different 1914 E145 Cracker Jack cards including one Hall of Famer (#73 Max Carey), each graded and encapsulated by SGC (with the exception of two cards graded by PSA as noted). The 1914 #144 series Cracker Jacks are far rarer than their 1915 counterparts, because the 1914 cards were not available by mail, and could only be obtained one card per package in boxes of Cracker Jacks. Because of their method of issue, 1914 Cracker Jacks are also almost always found with various condition problems including caramel staining. The SGC grades are as follows: Two EX 60: #25 Simon (Nagy Collection) and 73 Max Carey (1915 Cracker Jack, PSA EX 5). Five VG/EX 50: 16 Camnitz (Nagy Collection), 42 Bridwell (Nagy Collection), 59 Gessler (Nagy Collection), 72 Boehling (Nagy Collection), and 74 Owens (1915 Cracker Jack, PSA VG-EX 4). Two VG 40: #28 Barry (Nagy Collection) and 48 Lord (Nagy Collection). One GOOD 30: #49 Miller (Nagy Collection). One card (#170 Lobert) has a Gd-Vg appearance but is encapsulated by SGC as Authentic due to a slight trim. The "Nagy Collection" designation on many cards in this group refers to the fact that these cards were part of the collection of Frank Nagy, one of organized card collecting's most respected pioneers. This is a very attractive medium-grade collection of one of card collecting's most classic sets, with several cards grading Ex, which is very strong for this particular issue. Total 11 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $2,115.00
