1912 T202 Triple Folder "Speaker Almost Caught" Clarke/Miller PSA NM 7

Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $1,527.50

Graded NM 7 by PSA. This is one of only two examples graded at this level, with only four graded higher. Exceptionally high-grade example from the classic T202 Hassan Triple Folders set: #105 "Speaker Almost Caught" featuring Hall of Famer Fred Clarke and John Miller on the end panels, and Hall of Famer Tris Speaker featured in an action scene sliding safely back to first (in a failed pick-off effort) on the center-panel. T202 Triple Folders are one of the most condition-sensitive prewar issues. As indicated by the PSA Population Report, they are virtually nonexistent in Near Mint or better condition. The offered example is well centered, with deep, rich colors, perfect registration, and four sharp corners. This extraordinary high-grade example would be a worthy addition to any world-class T202 collection or high-grade Hall of Fame prewar card collection. We have found that at auction cards from extremely popular sets with very low populations in the highest grades often sell for far more than SMR, and this is especially the case with classic vintage sets such as the T202 Triple Folders. SMR value is $950. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $1,527.50
