1911 T205 Gold Border Irvin Wilhelm Variations (2)

Starting Bid - $400.00, Sold For - $5,875.00

Wilhelm is one of the particularly rare cards in the T205 Gold Border set. Few realize that there are actually two variations to this card, relating to the text on the reverse (the variations are checklisted in The Standard Catalog as 202a and 202b). Presented are both Irvin Wilhelm variations from the T205 Gold Border series, each graded EX 5 by PSA: 1) “Suffered” in 18th line of bio. This variation is the rarer of the two, and one of the most difficult of all T205 Gold Borders. Perfectly centered example, with bold colors, flawless registration, square corners with a hint of wear at the extreme tips (predominately the upper left), and otherwise with flawless gold borders. It is bright and perfectly clean, both front and back. 2) “Suffe ed” in 18th line of bio. This is a very strong example, with even wear at the corners (and otherwise virtually perfect gold borders), bright colors, and a clean image. This is a very attractive pair of rare high-grade T205 Gold Borders. Total 2 cards. Reserve $400. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $5,875.00
