1911 M116 Sporting Life PSA NM-MT 8 Collection (10)

Starting Bid - $800.00, Sold For - $5,287.50

Stunning high-grade collection of ten different 1911 M116 Sporting Life cards, all pack-fresh, each graded NM-MT 8 by PSA, with no qualifiers. All are crisp gems, miraculously preserved, looking today exactly as they did when issued in 1911. The collection is comprised of the following: Archer, Criss, Kroh, Leever, McQuillan (pastel), M. Mitchell (mislabeled by PSA as Fred Mitchell), Moore, Murphy (only one graded higher), Seymour, Stovall. All of these cards (except one) are the highest-graded examples in the PSA Population Report. Many collectors consider M116 to represent one of the era's most exceptional values. In terms of the number of players featured, M116 is the second most substantial set of the 1910 era featuring major leaguers, trailing only T206. Despite being so similar in design to their T206 counterparts, M116s in general are actually far rarer, though according to price guides they are lower in value. This is an outstanding collection for this issue, very carefully assembled in uncompromising high grade. All cards have razor-sharp corners and flawless registration, and are very well centered. SMR value is $2,730. Total 10 cards. Reserve $800. Estimate $1,500/$2,500+. SOLD FOR $5,287.50
