1910-Era Hall of Fame Tobacco Card Collection (4)

Collection of four Hall of Famers, all dating from the 1910 era, from three different highly regarded tobacco issues. The four cards have each been submitted by REA for grading and encapsulation by PSA. 1-2) Two 1909-11 T206 White Borders: a) Walter Johnson/hands at chest (VG-EX 4 [MK]; centered slightly to the top left, with bright and crisp colors. Appropriately downgraded by PSA due to a couple creases in the upper left corner but otherwise Ex-Mt. The back has a faint horizontal line of discoloration related to storage, but is otherwise perfectly clean). b) Christy Mathewson/white cap (EX 5; centered slightly high, with vibrant colors, and four square corners. The reverse is perfectly clean). 3) 1911 T201 Mecca Double Folders: Christy Mathewson (EX 5 [MK], Very attractive card with four square corners, brilliant colors. The card has been designated as "MK" due to a very faint line of discoloration on the back related to storage). 4) 1912 T202 Hassan Triple Folder: Chance/Tinker "Evers makes a Safe Slide" (EX-MT 6 [MK]; very crisp high-grade example, with four sharp corners, bright and sharp colors. Centered slightly to the top. The back a has few lines of discoloration related to long-ago storage, which is properly noted by PSA with an "MK" assigned qualifier). Four sharp-looking quality cards of Hall of Famers from three of the premier baseball-card sets of the early twentieth century. Total 4 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500.
