1903 E107 Breisch-Williams Fred Mitchell

Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $1,880.00

Graded FAIR 20 by SGC. Rare sample card of 1903 E107 Breisch-Williams featuring pitcher Fred Mitchell from the Philadelphia Phillies of the National League. The reverse of the card reads “One of a hundred and fifty prominent Baseball players” in bold black printing. E107s have always been highly appreciated by advanced baseball card collectors, for their extreme rarity, the fact that many players in the set appear in no other set, as well as their striking black-and-white portrait design. This is a very attractive example with a considerably stronger appearance than its technically accurate assigned grade. The card has a light crease in the lower right corner, is centered 25/75 left to right, and on the reverse has a hint of surface paper loss (barely detectable, no type missing, predominately along the top edge from having been removed from a scrapbook long ago). This is an outstanding sample from one of card collecting's most revered sets. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $1,880.00
