Circa 1948 Jimmie Foxx Single-Signed Mini Baseball

Starting Bid - $1,500.00, Sold For - $4,640.00

Identical to a Spalding Official National League (Frick) ball in all regards except for its size (seven inches in diameter as opposed to a standard nine inches), this mini ball has been signed by Jimmie Foxx in black fountain pen across the sweet spot. Foxx's vintage signature contrasts beautifully against the light surface and grades a strong "8." The manufacturer's stampings are perfectly legible and define this ball as dating from between 1946 and 1951. The ball is in overall Excellent to Mint condition. These mini balls are literally small versions of standard-sized balls, of extraordinary quality and produced as advertising or salesman's samples. Jimmy Foxx single-signed balls are extremely rare. This is a very rare, novel, and possibly unique baseball signed by one of baseball's most legendary sluggers. LOAs from James Spence/JSA and Steve Grad, Mike Gutierrez & Zach Rullo/PSA DNA. Reserve $1,500. Estimate $3,000/$5,000. SOLD FOR $4,640.00
