Tris Speaker Single-Signed Baseball

Starting Bid - $1,000.00, Sold For - $2,900.00

Official League Ball is signed by Tris Speaker ("7/8") in black ink across the sweet spot. Speaker's signature is particularly rare on a single-signed baseball. This is an impressive example which displays beautifully. One of the greats of the dead ball era, Speaker passed away in 1958, long before collecting Hall of Famers on single-signed baseballs became widely recognized as the ideal standard. Speaker began his Major League career in 1907, and retired as a player in 1928 with 3,515 lifetime hits and a .344 lifetime batting average. The ball is lightly soiled and the manufacturer's stampings are faded but legible; overall in Very Good to Excellent condition. LOAs from James Spence/JSA and Steve Grad, Mike Gutierrez & Zach Rullo/PSA DNA. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$3,000. SOLD FOR $2,900.00
