1939 to 1941 Play Ball Collection Including Joe Jackson & Joe DiMaggio

Collection of twenty-two assorted Play Ball bubble-gum cards issued by Gum, Inc. (20 different and 2 duplicates) spanning all three years of issue, from 1939 to 1941, highlighted by two 1939 Play Ball #26 Joe DiMaggios, 1940 Play Ball #225 Joe Jackson, and 1941 Play Ball #71 Joe DiMaggio. Condition ranges in grade from Very Good (includes a few slightly lesser) to Excellent condition, averaging Vg-Ex overall. This collection includes a very high concentration of Hall of Famers and key cards. 1) 1939 Play Ball (7 cards): two #7 Doerr (Vg-Ex and Gd), two 26 DiMaggio (PSA GOOD 2: this card is very harshly graded, appears Ex at a glance, downgraded due to tiny border stain on front and very light rubber band stain on reverse; the second #26 DiMaggio has identifying notations printed in ink on bottom border of front and four small pieces of tape on the back, otherwise in Vg-Ex condition), 41, 53 Hubbell (70/30 L/R, otherwise Ex), 56 Greenberg (pencil marks erased along the bottom border on the front and four small pieces of tape on the back, otherwise Ex). 2) 1940 Play Ball (9 cards): #38 Doerr (Vg-Ex), 40 Greenberg (Vg), 119 Alexander (Gd), 133 Foxx (15/85 L/R, otherwise Vg-Ex), 150, 156, 173 Lajoie (Vg-Ex/Ex), 175 Mathewson (Vg-Ex), 225 Jackson (PSA VG-EX 4, very attractive and well-centered card with no creases, natural toning, and even corner wear). 3) 1941 Play Ball (6 cards): #3, 6 Hubbell (90/10 L/R and a tiny paper scratch on the back, otherwise Ex), 13 Foxx (5/95 L/R, otherwise in Ex-Mt condition), 35, 60 Klein (Vg-Ex), 71 DiMaggio (PSA VG-EX 4, very nice looking and well-centered card, bright, clean and with no creases; we grade this card Vg/Vg-Ex due to several very light surface abrasions on border).
