1909-1911 T206 Ty Cobb Collection (4)

Starting Bid - $800.00, Sold For - $4,350.00

Complete set of all four Ty Cobb poses from the classic T206 White Border series, all in very collectible Good to Vg-Ex condition. 1) Red background portrait (Piedmont reverse) is in Vg-Ex condition, with a very tiny hairline crease in the lower left at the border, a tiny crease in the extreme upper right corner (in the border only), and even corner wear. 2) Green background portrait (Piedmont reverse) looks stronger at a glance, but is technically in Good condition due to two small areas of surface paper loss on the back. Corners are rounded. No creases. 3) Bat on shoulder pose (Sovereign reverse) has clean front, rounded corners. Good condition. 4) Bat off shoulder pose (Sweet Caporal reverse) has a couple of light creases, and a minor surface abrasion on reverse, otherwise in Vg condition. These are very attractive mid-grade examples with great eye-appeal. For the Cobb collector not interested in paying a king's ransom for cards in higher grade, but still wants very respectable original 1910-era cards of Cobb, or the T206 set builder seeking to fill in these four big slots, this collection presents an exceptional opportunity and represents an extraordinary value. Four very attractive cards of the "Georgia Peach" from the most popular set of the era. Total 4 cards. Reserve $800. Estimate $1,500/$2,500. SOLD FOR $4,350.00
