1909-1911 T206 White Borders Ty Cobb Collection (2)

Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $2,088.00

Collection of two T206 White Borders of Ty Cobb. The same famous Carl Horner photograph was used as the basis for both the green and red background portrait cards of Cobb T206 set. This lot includes graded examples of both portrait cards. 1) The striking green-background card (Piedmont reverse) is the most difficult to find of Cobb's four poses in the T206 set. This example is graded FAIR 20 by SGC (harshly graded due to very rounded corners, but still a very attractive and well-centered card). 2) The red-background card (Sweet Caporal reverse) is one of the great classics of the set. This is a very clean example with a strong portrait and light, even corner wear. Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. Total 2 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $2,088.00
