Circa 1920 Hugh Jennings Handwritten & Signed Note

Starting Bid - $400.00, Sold For - $2,900.00

Twenty-eight word handwritten note (5.5 x 2.75 inches) signed by Hall of Famer Hugh Jennings ("8"). The note, a cut section from a larger letter, is written in black fountain pen: "I am glad you are doing well and hope you will continue to do so. We are having tough weather here. With best wishes, I am, Always Yours, Hugh Jennings." Jennings passed away in 1928. While his signature is very rare on anything, written correspondence from this Hall of Famer is virtually unheard of. This is only the second handwritten signed note by Hugh Jennings we have seen. The note has two chips out of the edges and is evenly toned. Vg-Ex condition. LOAs from Mike Gutierrez/GAI and James Spence & Steve Grad/PSA DNA. Reserve $400. Estimate $800/$1,200. SOLD FOR $2,900.00
