1968 Bazooka Tipps From Topps Uncut Proof Sheets (2)

Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $1,044.00

Two 1968 Bazooka proof sheets featuring all 56 individual side panel player cards, and all fifteen portraits appearing on the larger "Tips from Topps" back panel cards. One sample box design is also presented in almost complete form. These sheets were used by the printer for color proofing prior to authorizing production. Both sheets have many printer's notations in pencil and pen. These sheets were really worked on. Folded into quarters, probably at Topps for easy carrying from one station to the next. 1968 Bazooka sheets are about as rare as modern uncut sheets can get. These are the only examples we have ever seen, and they may very well be unique. Because of the folds and extensive printer's notations, they are difficult to grade, but the sheets display very well and the condition flaws relate directly to their intended use. This is a fascinating pair of uncut proof sheets from one of the scarcest and most overlooked Topps-related issues of the era. These sheets were once a part of the legendary Don Steinbach collection. Good condition. Dimensions: Each measures 21 x 28 inches. Total 2 sheets. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$800. SOLD FOR $1,044.00
