1952 Bowman Original Card Artwork #14 Cliff Chambers

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $1,972.00

This is the actual original artwork to card #14 of Cliff Chambers of the St. Louis Browns from the 1952 Bowman series. The Bowman sets from the early 1950s are highly regarded in part for their use of original paintings. This is a magnificent example of an original Bowman artwork used in the production of this classic baseball series. The tiny pin hole in the extreme lower left corner and the tiny pin hole-related bite in upper left corner are very minor flaws resulting from intended use during the pasteup card production process and are mentioned strictly for the sake of accuracy. As is always the case with these original early 1950s card artworks, there are also standard production-related glue remnants on blank reverse. Accompanied by an example of the issued card. This is a very attractive artwork. Clean and crisp with bright colors. The artwork measures 6.25 x 4.25 inches and is in overall Excellent condition. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $1,972.00
