1934 Goudey #33 Don Hurst PSA NM-MT 8

Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $1,972.00

Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. One of nine examples graded at this level with none graded higher. This strong left-handed hitter came into the Majors when offense was at its peak. In four of his first five years with the Phillies, he batted over .300. In 1932, his best all-around season, he hit .339 with 24 HR, and led the NL with 143 RBI. This extraordinary high-grade card has bright colors, four razor sharp corners, and perfect registration. Centered very slightly to the top border (45/55). Bright, crisp, and clean, and with extremely bold green printing on reverse. We have found that the auction selling prices of cards from extremely popular sets with very low populations in the highest grades often sell for far more than SMR, and this is especially the case with classic vintage sets such as 1934 Goudey.Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $1,972.00
