1941 R330 Double Play Ted Williams PSA MINT 9

Starting Bid - $1,000.00, Sold For - $6,960.00

Graded MINT 9 by PSA. This is the highest graded and the only MINT 9 example ever graded by PSA. One of the few great Ted Williams cards issued early in his career, this classic dates precisely from the year of Williams' legendary .406 season. The card is an absolute gem. Perfect in all respects, a strong case could be made that this card is deserving of a GEM MINT 10 grade. Razor sharp corners. Flawless edges. Perfect surface. Bright, crisp, and perfectly clean both front and back. Perfect centering. This is no "slider." This card is a "monster." It is the finest example in the world of one of Ted Williams' most important cards, from a set in which cards are rarely found in Mint condition. In fact, as of this writing, only nine 1941 Double Play cards in total have ever received a MINT 9 grade by PSA, out of over 1,000 examples graded. Of these nine, the offered #57/58 Ted Williams/Jim Tabor card is the only example of either of the two key stars, Ted Williams (who appears in the set twice) or Joe DiMaggio (who also appears in the set twice), to be graded MINT 9. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$4,000. SOLD FOR $6,960.00
