1911 T3 Turkey Red PSA Graded Collection (8)

Starting Bid - $800.00, Sold For - $5,510.00

Collection of eight different T3 Turkey Red cabinets, each of which has been graded and encapsulated by PSA. This is particularly impressive group in terms of condition. Because the grading of T3s by PSA is relatively new, few collectors have had the opportunity to see exactly how PSA grades these large-format full-color cabinet cards. They are brutal. T3s are big cards. There's a lot of surface area to look at, both front and back, to find minute flaws. The corners of T3s are rarely razor-sharp under magnification, and the lightest edge-wear shows up as wear on the borders, especially under a loop. All this adds up to outrageously attractive, bright, crisp, fresh, high-grade cards, which look Ex or better at a glance, graded very harshly due to extremely minor technical flaws. Includes: #4 Roger Bresnahan (EX 5), 20 Tim Jordan (VG-EX 4), 29 Amby McConnell (VG 3), 31 Sherry Magee (EX 5), 39 Rube Waddell (VG-EX 4), 45 Jordan & Herzog At First (VG-EX 4), 50 Chief Meyers At Bat (VG-EX 4), and 92 Jimmy Dygert (VG-EX 4). Turkey Red cabinets are universally recognized as among the most beautiful baseball card issues ever produced. This is a very attractive group, including Hall of Famer Rube Waddell and two multiplayer horizontal cards, with far better eye-appeal than suggested by their assigned grades. SMR value is $2,315. Total 8 cards. Reserve $800. Estimate $1,500/$2,500. SOLD FOR $5,510.00
