Fascinating original "shoebox" collection includes 295 cards from eight different issues dating from 1909 to 1927. The collection is totally unpicked, including four Ty Cobb tobacco cards, numerous additional rarities and Hall of Famers, and an E210 York Caramel of Babe Ruth. It is interesting to note that this untouched collection originates from York, Pennsylvania, thus explaining the inclusion of the York and American Caramel cards. The entire collection is in a very consistent overall Good to G-Vg condition. While not in high grade, the collection is still very respectable; all are in a very narrow band of condition with almost no variance. Many cards have very minor spot paper loss to the reverses. This original-owner card collection represents a tremendous value and collecting opportunity, including over 50 Hall of Famers, plus rarities, and offering a significant representation, in a very collectible (and relatively affordable) condition, of many of the most important issues of the era. Total 295 cards. Reserve $2,500. Estimate $5,000/$10,000. SOLD FOR $11,020.00
