1970 Mickey Mantle Signed Coach's Bat

Starting Bid - $2,000.00, Sold For - $5,175.00

H&B shipping records show this Hillerich & Bradsby signature model number K55 was ordered by Mantle on August 25, 1970. This bat was ordered and used by him as a coach for the Yankees in 1970. Even though not game-used from his playing days, this bat is a genuine factory-recorded H&B model that Mantle ordered and used during his only year as a Yankee coach, with all the same specifications as his game bats. This uncracked bat shows evidence of excellent game use, displaying ball hit and blue bat rack marks. The handle has a light coat of pine tar, and Mantle's player number "7" is written in vintage black marker on the knob end. The barrel is boldly signed "Mickey Mantle No. 7" ("9") in black sharpie. In his final years, Mantle charged $5,000 to sign game bats. This is a very interesting Mantle bat from his only year with the Yankees as a coach, the final chapter of his career on the field in a Yankee uniform in an official capacity. This is a very interesting, rare, and relatively affordable alternative to a $30,000 autographed Mantle game bat. Length: 35 inches. Weight: 33 ounces. SCD Authentic Grade: A8. LOAs from Dave Bushing & Dan Knoll/SCD Authentic and Mike Gutierrez/GAI and James Spence, Steve Grad & John Taube & Vince Malta/PSA DNA. Reserve $2,000. Estimate $4,000/$6,000. SOLD FOR $5,175.00
