1951-57 Red Schoendienst Game-Used Bat

Red Schoendienst Adirondack model 52A game-used bat dates from 1951to 1957. These were Schoendienst's most productive years as a player, topping the .300 mark four times in seven years, including batting .342 in 1953. The bat is uncracked and displays excellent game use. The barrel shows evidence of ball marks and red/black bat rack marks. Second baseman Red Schoendienst was one of the Cardinals' all-time greats. He was chosen to participate in 10 All-Star teams during the late 1940s and 1950s. His career in the majors spanned 32 seasons, 19 as a player and 13 as manager. As manager, he led the Cardinals to the 1967 World Championship and the 1968 NL pennant. This is a very scarce game-used bat from the height of Schoendienst's career as a player. Length: 35 inches.
