1955 NY Yankees Team-Signed Baseball

Starting Bid - $800.00, Sold For - $2,300.00

Official American League (Harridge) ball is signed by 29 members of the 1955 New York Yankees. Includes: Yogi Berra (sweet spot), Mickey Mantle (early vintage), Casey Stengel, Elston Howard (rookie year), Dickey, Rizzuto, Ford (signed Ed Ford), Skowron, Bauer, McDougald, Crosetti, Larsen, Collins, Turley, Coleman, Byrne, Cerv, Robinson, Grim, Kucks, Morgan, Silvera, Noren, Leja, Sturdivant, Carey, Carroll, Wiesler, etc. This was the third time in four years that the "Bronx Bombers" met the "Bums from Brooklyn" in the Fall Classic. The Yankees had missed the previous year's World Series (despite winning 103 games) due to the great success of the 1954 Cleveland Indians. In 1955, the Yankees were back in top form and ready to add to their ever-growing collection of championships, but the Dodgers had other ideas, and eventually won the series in seven games. The signatures grade an "8/9." The ball has one light rust mark spot on a single panel (not in the least affecting legibility but touching Morgan and Silvera signatures, and which we mention strictly for the sake of accuracy), and is otherwise in Near Mint condition. The ball is accompanied by the original Spalding packaging wrapper. An extraordinary high-grade Yankee team-signed ball, with a rare, authentic early vintage Mantle signature, from one of the key years of the 1950s. LOAs from Mike Gutierrez/GAI and James Spence & Steve Grad/PSA DNA. Reserve $800. Estimate $1,500/$2,500. SOLD FOR $2,300.00
