Large Lefty Grove Signed Photo Personalized to Bing Miller

Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $1,035.00

This large-format (11 x 14 inches) original photograph of Lefty Grove pitching is signed "To My Good Friend Bing Miller, From Lefty Grove" in black fountain pen ("7"). Grove and Miller were teammates on the Philadelphia Athletics from 1925 to 1933. Signed vintage Grove photographs are scarce, but a vintage display photograph of this unusually large size is extremely rare. The fact that it is signed and inscribed to teammate Bing Miller gives this example an added dimension of interest. Grove was one of the top pitchers of his era, accumulating 300 wins during his 17 years in the majors. The photo has some small border tears and chips, primarily along the left border, which do not affect the overall integrity of the image. There is a small tape repair to a tear on the reverse. Technically Good condition due to imperfections, but very striking and ideal for framing and display. LOAs from Mike Gutierrez/GAI and James Spence & Steve Grad/PSA DNA. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$600. SOLD FOR $1,035.00
