Two 1929 World Series Programs

Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $2,587.50

Beautiful matched-set pair of 1929 World Series programs, one at Chicago, and one at Philadephia. Both programs feature portraits of opposing managers Connie Mack and Joe McCarthy on their covers, but the similarities in design pretty much begin and end there. The Chicago program features a beautifully designed multicolor art-deco inspired design, with tassel binding, and measures just 6 x 9 inches, with a modest 8 photo-packed interior pages. The Philadelphia program has a very unusual black & white cover design, larger dimensions (8 x 11.5 inches), and a very substantial 64 interior pages with countless biographies and player illustrations. Like their programs, the A's may not have been as flashy but had more substance, and took the series in 5 games. Both programs are unscored and are exceptionally clean examples in Excellent condition. Reserve $200. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $2,587.50
