1894 National League and American Association Pass

Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $1,265.00

Rare official pass to all National League and American Association games for the season of 1894 features a portrait of National League President N.E.Young in the lower left. The ornately designed pass is partially filled out by hand to a "Mr. J.M. Adams" on "the acct of A.H. Soden," and is noted as being provided "Compliments of the Boston Baseball Asso." Soden was the owner of the Boston Nationals. There could not have been many of these extremely valuable passes issued. The pass allows for "Privileged entrée to all parks" and was likely distributed only to a very select group of VIPs and dignitaries. The cities of all Major League franchises are listed at the top front. The quality of the pass is extraordinary. It is printed on extremely sturdy card stock, with the highest caliber production values. It is rare for any baseball item from the 1890s to be so elaborately designed and produced with such attention to quality. Extremely rare, one of only several examples known to exist. 4 x 2.5 inches. Bright and crisp. In spectacular Nr/Mt-Mt condition. Reserve $200. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $1,265.00
