1954 Red Heart Dog Food PSA-Graded Complete Set (33)

Starting Bid - $2,000.00, Sold For - $8,625.00

Extraordinary ultra high-grade complete set of 1954 Red Heart Dog Food. The entire set of 33 cards has been graded and encapsulated by PSA, with 32 cards grading PSA NM-MT 8, and one card (Billy Martin) grading PSA MINT 9. A tremendous amount of time and energy, in addition to money, has been invested in the assembling of this beautiful set over a period of years by a very dedicated collector. The highest regard for centering was always a priority and is apparent throughout, with every card displaying near perfect centering, with a few no worse than 60/40. Red Hearts have always been a favorite with collectors. Many consider Red Hearts to be one of the most attractive sets ever issued. The distinctive artwork, and the unusual product with which they were issued both contribute to making Red Hearts one of the 1950s most noteworthy sets. No essay on baseball cards and how they were issued is complete without at least a mention of Red Heart Dog Food. Though comprised of only 33 cards, the set features many of the greatest stars of the early 1950s, including Mantle, Musial, Snider, Ashburn, Spahn, and Fox. This is an absolutely stunning high-grade PSA-graded complete set of one of card collecting's most distinctive and popular issues. The SMR value for the individual cards exceeds $8,000. Total 33 cards. Reserve $2,000. Estimate $6,000/$8,000. SOLD FOR $8,625.00
