1960s Roberto Clemente Single-Signed Baseball

Starting Bid - $1,000.00, Sold For - $8,625.00

Spectacular "Official 97C League" MacGregor brand baseball has been boldly single-signed ("8/9") in aqua-green ink by Clemente across the sweet spot. He has added a salutation in his native Spanish above his signature. These baseballs were manufactured after 1959 and had wide use in various semi-professional and professional leagues across the country. Typically, the respective league president's name is stamped on the side panel of these baseballs and this example is no exception. The league president's name is lightly stamped on a side panel away from the Clemente signature. Clemente single-signed baseballs are rare and, of course, extremely desirable. Most examples are signed on a side panel. This ideal example is exceptional, and displays beautifully with Clemente's 3 inch signature boldly flowing across the sweet spot. The ball is in strong Excellent condition. LOAs from Mike Gutierrez/GAI and James Spence & Steve Grad/PSA DNA. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $4,000/$8,000. SOLD FOR $8,625.00
