1888 N162 Goodwin Champions Cap Anson PSA NM 7

Starting Bid - $2,000.00, Sold For - $13,800.00

Graded NM 7 by PSA. An outstanding high-grade example of the key card from this very popular and colorful set of 50, issued by Old Judge and Gypsy Queen. This striking Near Mint example is beautifully centered, with bright, flawless colors and perfect registration. The card is clean and crisp, both front and back, and, in our opinion, could have qualified for a grade of NM-MT. We can only imagine that a couple of light corner touches visible under magnification resulted in this beauty falling to the other side of the grading fence. This is a magnificent super high grade example of one of the most classic of all nineteenth-century baseball cards, worthy of the finest collection. Only three N162 Ansons have been graded and encapsulated as NM 7 by PSA. SMR value is $7,000. Reserve $2,000. Estimate $5,000/$7,500. SOLD FOR $13,800.00
