1915 T214 Victory Tobacco Hal Chase

Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $1,725.00

The 1915 T214 Victory set is an obscure series of tobacco cards, issued exclusively in the Louisiana area, which is sometimes mistaken for the T206 "White Border" set. Victory Tobacco is one of the few sets which feature players from the Federal League, in addition to featuring Major Leaguers. Offered is a rare sample card of Hal Chase (port.). On this card, Chase is identified as being with the Buffalo club of the Federal League. Victory Tobacco cards have a glossy coated surface which is very susceptible to creasing. This is a very attractive example, with a couple light surface creases, in overall Vg-Ex condition. The reverse is particularly clean, which is ideal for a sample of this rare issue. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$600. SOLD FOR $1,725.00
